Corpus and San Benito trip

Uss Lexington
USS Lexington in Corpus Christi
The above pictures were taken with my $8.00 camera.  I had used up the battery on my regular camera taking pictures of Harlingen, San Benito and Point Isabella (South Padre Island).  Couldn't buy batteries to fit my camera so bought a really cheap digital.  Seems to have worked ok.  Really enjoyed the tour of the aircraft carrier.  Lots of climbing up and down, walking decks and through hatchways, reading histories on all sorts of things, taking a virtual top gun run, climbing more stairs, more reading, dodging about 500 boys scouts and their parent who were going to overnight on the ship.  You can see why you don't see a lot of overweight sailors on an active aircraft carrier... too much climbing!!!!

Iwo Jima Memorial in Harlingen, Tx
This is the original plaster working model of the statue  for the Iwo Jima memorial in  Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.  Very impressive!

I don't know if Wendy is standing beside a banana tree or something else. Notice the flower hanging down from the fruit.

Looks like some of the dandelions we have up in Alberta!!

Oranges anyone??
David on the beach
Well it was a nice break and the weather was beautiful.  What more can you ask for??
