Close to the end of 2011
I thought I would change the format so I could look at the last 2 years more easily and reflect at how good God has been to us.

My name is Fluffy
Well we went to the Christmas gathering at the Clubhouse. More food than you could shake a stick at. (whatever that means).
Then there were the desserts and these pictures were taken before everyone got there!
Now the diet and exercise begins!!!
Tomorrow it is going to be a cloudy and cool day so we're going to the movies. Not sure whether it is "War Horse" or "Mission Impossible". It only cost $5 each so maybe we'll OD and go to both of them. Oh, that is us just before eating. :)
This is the carousel just out our back window.
We were out to visit an author friend of ours and this is a house that overlooks the park that they are staying at. If you are ever looking for some good books for kids ages young to 15(course everyone that age is young) check out LOIS WALFRID JOHNSON at http://www.lwjbooks.com/ . I've read the Viking series and they are really good.(and I'm a long ways past 15!!)
Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas 'cause we sure did.

Oh Holy Night
Getting ready for a a quiet Christmas here in Kerrville. It is raining here tonight but it is needed so no complaining. Lots of cards coming in so it seems like Christmas is here. Tired of all the Christmas movies on TV as they seem to be replaying about a dozen times each. I think our waistlines are growing with all the Christmas goodies and dining. Life is good! Just thought I would send out our Christmas greetings for the multitudes that follow this blog. :)

New posting
This was a picture taken this year(Feb.) in lake Tahoe. I thought I would add something just to add something. It is disappointing to go to a blog expecting new news and it is still the same old post. What is with people? You mean they have a life. I would add more stuff but not much stuff happening. Been raining and drizzling a lot lately so have been reading a lot. We like it more than the biting cold. It is nice to go to bed and you don't need the heater or the air conditioner running.
Well that's about it for now. Hope everyone is getting excited about Christmas.

SAP (Secondary Audio Program)
Our TV started acting up yesterday. It seemed liked it was the cable company's problem but it was actually just a button that was pushed on the remote. Our Channel 43 (TNT) started broadcasting in Spanish but with subtitles in English. Fox and CNN didn't have any sound at all. Couldn't figure it out as we didn't have another TV to compare it to. Maintenance let me use their small TV to check out the cable and it was good. Did a check on the internet and they suggested the audio button on the remote and switch it from SAP to stereo and the problem should be fixed. Eureka!! Watch out for that SAP button. (I suppose up in Canada it would be French instead of Spanish). Well that's the electronics lesson for today, bye y'all)

Ingram outing
The following pictures are on the back and side wall of the local lumber yard in Ingram.
Anyone need a little cedar? Also went out and filled our propane bottle. $19 Not bad, I guess. Gas is $2.92 a gallon at HEB with it's 11 cent a gallon discount. Weather is down to freezing at night but nice during the day. Seems like about 10 degrees cooler than last year but still ok. Well best get out and enjoy the sun. while it is still there.

70 years ago today
It is hard to believe that 70 years ago Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Something to think about. That's it for today.

Dec 1
We sure blew through Nov. in a hurry. Where does the time fly? A month ago we were driving a friend to San Antonio to check in at the heart hospital there. After a month long struggle he passed away last night. It is kind of sad as he will be missed by all in the park. A gentle spirit, a great piano player, a kind word whenever you happened to meet him. He was about 76 but had had a few health issues in the last few years but always seemed to rebound back. I guess the body can only take so many big time surgeries. I can't imagine what it would have cost as he had been in intensive care for a month.
Well here it is Dec. 6 and I still haven't finished this post. Weather has turned cold at night--below freezing. Had trouble with our furnace--wouldn't seem to put out much heat--just warm, not hot. Anyhow I pulled the ignitor assembly and there was a little bug partially blocking the orifice. I cleaned it up, put it back together and not it is putting out hot air. High 5!! All week is supposed to be cool so glad I've fixed the furnace.
I think we got about about a half inch of rain so we're thankful for that.
Can't seem to get the brain in gear to do much posting so I guess that's it for now. Bye
Maybe with the rain that is supposed to be coming, this will really be overflowing. |
